Collect your water sample in a clean, leak-proof bottle. If you're requesting microbiological testing, please use a sterile bottle. For routine water analysis, submit about 1 to 2 litres of water. For microbiological testing, 250–500 mL is usually sufficient. If you're collecting water from a tap or borehole, allow the water to run for about 2–3 minutes before filling the bottle. Avoid touching the inside of the bottle or cap while collecting the sample. Close the bottle tightly to prevent leakage. Label your sample with: Your name or organisation Sample location Type of water (borehole, tap, river, etc.) Date and time of collection If microbiological testing is required, keep the sample cool (2–8°C) during transportation and deliver it to us as soon as possible.
