About Interfacial Tension

Interfacial Tension is an industrial laboratory test that measures or evaluates the material property specified by Interfacial Tension for petroleum specification, custody transfer or condition monitoring. The result is used for petroleum specification, custody transfer or condition monitoring, giving manufacturers, operators, engineers or quality teams objective data for specification checks, process decisions, troubleshooting or product acceptance. Testing is performed on a representative the applicable crude oil, fuel, lubricant, gas or DEF sample sample using ASTM D971, allowing the measured property to be compared with the required product, process or engineering specification where one is supplied. Where compliance with a particular ASTM, ISO, EN, API, OEM or customer specification is required, provide the exact specification or acceptance limit when the sample is submitted.

Sample & Submission Guide

How to package the sample
Collect the gas sample into the laboratory-approved passivated cylinder, gas sampling bomb or suitable gas-tight bag using clean, pressure-rated connections. Purge the sampling line as required, avoid air ingress and close all valves securely after collection. Fit protective valve caps, label the source, pressure, date and time, and transport the cylinder upright and restrained in accordance with compressed-gas and dangerous-goods requirements. Do not ship leaking, damaged or unlabelled pressure vessels. For Interfacial Tension, use packaging and preservation compatible with ASTM D971; if the receiving laboratory supplies a dedicated collection kit, bottle or transport medium, that kit takes precedence over general packaging guidance.
