Not all water that looks clean is actually safe to drink or use. Harmful bacteria and other microorganisms cannot be seen with the naked eye, yet they can pose serious health risks. Our Microbiological Analysis of Water service helps you determine whether your water is free from harmful microorganisms and safe for its intended use.
At AnalysisAfrica, we test water samples for important microbiological indicators that reveal contamination and overall water safety. Depending on your requirements, our analysis may include Total Coliform Count, Faecal Coliforms, Escherichia coli (E. coli), Total Viable Count (TVC), Salmonella, Shigella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other microorganisms where required.
This service is ideal for borehole water, well water, tap water, bottled water, sachet water, swimming pools, rivers, streams, industrial water, wastewater and water used in food production. Whether you're checking the quality of your household water, meeting regulatory requirements, monitoring a packaged water facility or conducting research, we're here to provide accurate and reliable results.
Once testing is complete, you'll receive a detailed laboratory report indicating the microorganisms detected, their levels (where applicable), and an interpretation of the findings. If you're unsure which microbiological tests you need, simply tell us where the water comes from and how you intend to use it, and we'll recommend the most appropriate testing package.
The test price is ₦30,000. The amount shown on this page is the current test price before any eligible discount, delivery or collection charge.
The current estimated result delivery time is 3 days. Actual timing can depend on sample condition, preparation and laboratory workflow.
The sample requirement shown by the laboratory is: 250ml.
Proper sample collection is essential for obtaining accurate microbiological results. Collect your sample in a sterile sampling bottle provided by the laboratory or an approved sterile container. Submit 250–500 mL of water for routine microbiological analysis. Do not rinse the sterile bottle before collecting the sample. If collecting from a tap or borehole, allow the water to run for 2–3 minutes before filling the bottle. Avoid touching the inside of the bottle or cap during collection. Close the container immediately after collection to prevent contamination. Clearly label the sample with: Your name or organisation Sample identification Water source (borehole, tap, well, river, etc.) Collection location Date and time of collection Keep the sample refrigerated or in a cool box (approximately 2–8°C) during transport. Do not freeze the sample.
