Refractive Index

Refractive Index is a specialised analytical laboratory service that measures how strongly the sample bends light, a useful physical identity and purity parameter. The service is particularly useful for compendial quality control, release testing, stability, safety or formulation testing, providing a documented result that can support quality decisions, regulatory review, process control or investigation of the submitted material. A representative liquid formulation/raw material sample is examined using Refractometry; correct sampling is important because the laboratory result can only represent the portion of material actually submitted. If the result must be assessed against a particular regulatory limit, customer specification or test standard, state that requirement when submitting the sample so the report can be aligned appropriately.
